The first restaurant I ever worked at served boiled okra during the summer and I can vividly remember having a hard time keeping the gelatinous vegetable on the spoon. Okra can be such a finicky vegetable and the number of appetizing ways to prepare it are slim. For a crunchy outside, let it go a little longer. Bake for another 3-5 minutes or until pods are softened. ![]() Bake for 5-7 minutes and turn okra over onto the other side. Good okra recipes aren’t always easy to find.
